Initially, I purchased the PVR250 from www.pcalchemy.com because they had the cheapest price I could find, but I was surprised to find that their tech support had such in-depth knowledge about the card when I ran into trouble. I have come to expect that most retailer's salespeople and tech-support staff have little or no experience in working with the products they sell. The tech-support team at pcalchemy
actively pursued a solution for using my new card in Linux, and promptly came up with a patch that would allow my card to work, even though the latest Linux driver did not support this newest version of the tv-card. Now, in retrospect, I am very excited that I did NOT buy from a retail store, where I am sure an underinformed salesperson would have had no
help to give me on my new card purchase.
